July 2010 -
        Friday, July 9 -
Well, I have been lazy and didn't write anything in the Journal, lately.  That's also because nothing much has happened.  I am taking Sue to Sunday School and Church each Sunday, since she no longer drives.  They got a new pastor, the last Sunday of June, Rev Kelly Pope.  He missed his first Sunday because his father died, but conducted a nice sermon for the 4th of July.  The rest of the 4th was a non-event for us, as we just went home and did what we do every other day - nothing.  We do attend "Burger Night" at 'Tine Lindsley's, every Tuesday night, with her and other friends and this helps break the routine, but as I say, if the most exciting thing in your life is going to the ER, then boring is good!
        Monday, July 12 -
A week ago, last Friday, I was sitting on a stool in the bathroom and leaned over, to the right, to pick up something off the floor.  I felt something pop and felt a sharp pain. I thought I had cracked a rib, and it hurt when I moved, but was a lot better by Monday, so I didn't go to the doctor.  I thought it was OK, but over this last weekend, it started bothering me when I move, so I decided I would to go to the doctor today. I waked up at 6AM with it hurting constantly, so am writing this at home, while waiting for the doctor to get to his office.  I'll write more when I know more.
Later - I just returned from the doctor.  I had x-rays and he says I do have a broken rib, but there is nothing to be done, except let it hurt or take pain pills, be careful not to hurt it again, and wait for it to heal.
Saturday, July 24 - Things are still boring (good).  I went around the yard on my cripple cart and made a few flower pictures .  Tonight is my 60 year High School Class Reunion.  I'll try to get some pictures to put here later. And here are the pictures.
Thursday, July 28 - Sue had a soreness in her breast and Dr Mayfield sent her to Jackson for a mamogram, on Monday, the 25th.  She just got a letter, today, saying it didn't show anything, and she says it is hurting much less, so maybe it's OK.  Dr Mayfield has been out of the office all week, and I heard he is back in the hospital with his heart.  It's tough when our doctor is in worse shape than we are!
Saturday, July 31 - Last night we went to Little Richard's Catfish house, with Donna and Harry Caldwell, to celebrate Donna's birthday.  Then today, 'Tine Lindsley and Joe's cousin, Mary Kate Duncan came by and sat with us awhile.  For August, go to Next Page.
