In July, we went to Houston for a long weekend and attended a play 'Dirty Dealings in Dixie'
in which Bruce made his debut as the evil villian's sidekick. He had the
lead in another play later in the year, but we weren't able to attend.
In September, we went to Florence to watch our grand daughter, Jenna, do gymnastics.
In October, the store building was finished and the business launched as Mississippi Pet & Livestock
Supply. We then took off to Pigeon Forge, TN in the Smokies to spend 4 days with Bruce & Judy at their timeshare condo and check
out the fall colors. In late October we had a visit, for a few days, by
Bob & Paula Anschutz from Missouri. She attended grade school at Freeny with Nancy Sue.
In November, Nita, Bob & the Grandkids were here for Thanksgiving. Joe had all the Christmas Lights up for the Grandkids. His big project was a 20' long Helicopter with Santa sitting in the cabin door and rotors of chase lights so they appeared
to rotate. He said this might be his last project of this size, since without
Harry Caldwell helping for 3 days he couldnt have done it. The day
after Thanksgiving, Ed & Polly Roy, from Florida with their daughter Celia from
Albuquerque dropped by for the weekend. They had spent Thanksgiving with
grandson Mike Meyer at Mississippi State.
In December, the local Business & Professional Women's Club asked Sue to let our house be on their
annual Christmas Parade of Homes to benefit their scholarship fund so we have been busy cleaning up the place for the big event on December 14. On Dec 14th, we had the biggest snow storm in years. We spent Christmas with Bob, Nita and the grandchildren, in Florence.
We went to
16 craft shows during the year with Sue's Stained Glass, but plan to cut back to about 5 next year.
