Sunday, Sep 17 -  Saturday, Sep 23 - South Dakota and Minnesota:
We are in Cedar Creek CG in the
Badlands NP.  As with all Nat. Parks, there are no hookups.  We left Smokey in the M/H with all the windows open and went into Willis to the Wall Drug Store, which is a big attraction.  It was an interesting place, but not up to it's billing.  When we got back Smokey was on the floor panting and the temp was 102 outside and 105 inside.  We cranked the generator, closed the windows, turned on the air and soon had a liveable environment inside.  We decided 1 day was enough of the Badlands.  Monday, we went to Chamberlain to a Corps of Eng. CG, with nice trees on the Missouri River.  We had full hookups for $9/night.  It was still 92 outside so we stayed in, read and relaxed.  Tuesday, we had heavy winds last night as a front came through and it's cooler today.  Wednesday, was chilly and we drove to Mitchell, SD to the Corn Palace.  Every Sept, they redo the outside with new patterns of corn, grasses and other seeds and have similar displays on the inside.  We took the long way back to camp to see the sights.  Thursday we moved to Fairbault Co. Park in southern Minnesota, and stayed through Saturday, rested and read.  A front passed and the temp was in the 50s.  We went to Albert Lea for groceries, prescriptions, etc. Sunday, Sep 24 - Saturday, Sep 30 - Lynn's Wisconsin farm and home in MN:
We stopped at Green Valley to visit the Laura Ingles Wilder (Little House on the Prairie) Museum for a couple of hours, then turned north to meet Bob and Anne Lynn at their farm in Wisconsin.  We arrived at 4 PM, right after they did, and are parked in their yard.  Bob is in his wheel chair, since his stroke, and has little use of his left side but still talks OK.  We enjoyed visiting with them.  Monday, Sue did chicken and rice and an apple crisp and we had lunch with Bob, Anne and John Doughty, who lives in their farmhouse and cares for things when they are not here.  We spent the afternoon visiting with them and meeting their neighbors who dropped by to see Bob and Anne.  The temp was 33 this AM and 40 at noon.  Tuesday, the Lynns took us to Arkansaw, WI for lunch, then decided to return home to Burnsville, MN.  We followed for awhile until Anne got sleepy.  Joe drove their car with Bob and Anne rode with Sue.  We got to Burnsville about 8:30 PM and parked in a shopping center for the night.  Wednesday, Anne came by the M/H with her sister and niece and took us to lunch, then guided us out to Mystic Casino Campground, where we stayed through Saturday.  We visited each day with Bob and Anne at their place, Joe worked on their computer while Anne and Sue did "girl" things.
