On the Road e-mail #9 (April 19 - April 23)
Alamogordo to Albuquerque, New Mexico

Saturday & Sunday, April 14 & 15:

Saturday, Joe worked on his motorhome projects and Sue washed some clothes, then we spent the rest of the day reading.  Sunday, Joe went out for a newspaper and brought back breakfast from McDonald's, then worked on the M/H while Sue did some house cleaning.  We spent the rest of the day reading.
Monday, April 16:
Joe wound up his M/H projects, went to the pharmacy to fill prescriptions, the PX for a few things, the Post Office to pick up our last mail, then came back and got the tools put up.  Sue washed the awning and rolled it up, did some more house cleaning and straightened up things in the car.   Tomorrow, we go to JR's with the M/H and car to finish hooking up the tow brakes and finish another "do it yourself" project that Joe had not gotten done.  When that's all done, we're off to Albuquerque.
Tuesday, April 17:
Well, we're still at Holloman AFB for one more night.  We left this AM, but they didn't get it all done at JR's until 4PM so we just came back here to spend the night.  We now have a tachometer, and the brakes on the car work with the M/H brakes when towing, which should be a help in the mountains.  We'll go on to Albuquerque tomorrow.
Wednesday, April 18:
We left this morning at 9AM and got about 75 miles before developing transmission trouble.  First we lost overdrive, then 2nd.  We finally mannaged to make it to Kirtland AFB at Albuquerque.  We'll sit here a few days while Joe calls transmission shops to try to set up an appointment We need to get it done in 1 day if possible, because it's also our home.  We surely don't want to have to move into a motel.  More info when we know something.  We saw an interesting sight at a junkyard when leaving Alamogordo.  See picture
