Sun May 20-Wed May 23 - (Hill AFB, Ogden, UT)  Joe & Nancy Sue Reeves "On the Road":

A front came through and the high Sunday was in the 60s with a cold north wind.  It was too cold to sit outside.  Sue did another load of clothes and we stayed inside and read all day.
      Monday,
the weather was nice today and we sat outside most of the day.  Looking west from our campsite we can see the Great Salt Lake with mountains across the lake.  To the west is a range of taller snowcapped mountains.  Joe went to Walmart to pick up a few things and stopped by a place he had called about a handicapped cart.  He got lucky!!  They had a nice cart a guy had kept for 2 months and traded in on a bigger one.  It looks brand new and he got a cart, that cost almost $3000  new, for $1000.  Now he can ride the cart on all the paved trails and save his strength to walk a few short trails where the cart can't go and Sue won't have to wait for him on the cart trails.
      Tuesday,
we took the M/H back about 5 miles south to an RV dealer to get an oil change and a few small items fixed.  It ended up taking most of the day.  We got there a 9AM, they didn't get started on it until 10:00 and we finally got out of there at 4:30.  We'd planned to leave in the AM but the mail hasn't come so, I guess, we'll have to stay here until it does.
      Wednesday,
the mail came today at 1:30, so Joe got the bills into the computer and went to the library to transmit payments and this e-mail.  We didn't get much else accomplished today, but we plan to leave tomorrow AM.
Thursday May 24 (Craters of the Moon National Monument, ID):

Today we moved north to Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho.  It is on the site of a volcano which last erupted about 2000 years ago.  Since Native Americans have lived in this area for much longer than that, some of them must have been present during these eruptions.  That must have been a sight to see!!  There are thousands of acres of lava beds in the area and some of them look as if they only cooled off last week.  Joe rode his new cart down some of the trails for a total of a couple of miles and it performed quite well.  He was very pleased with it.  See Craters pictures.
