Tuesday, April 23 (Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM):
We traveled 260 miles today, arriving at Albuquerque, NM about 1PM. They are full up so we are in the overflow area. We should get hookups tomorrow.
Wednesday, April 24 (Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM):
We moved to the full hook up area today. We happen to be next door to Virgie Ravenhawk, who is here for the "Gathering of Nations". She plays a beautiful native flute. Her traveling companion, Zana James, sells native art. She asked if her playing would bother us and we said, "Absolutely NOT". Sue went over and talked to her and bought one of her CDs. We heard from the lady at the camp office that the O-club was having 2 for 1 steak dinners so we went over and participated. When we got back Harry & Donna came over and we met our neighbors again. They came over and talked for awhile and Virgie brought over her flutes and treated us to a private concert right in our own motorhome. The weather has turned rotten, the wind is blowing with gusts to 35-40 mph and there's dust in the air and the M/H is rocking. We sure hope it doesn't last long.
Thursday, April 25 (Sandia Tramway):
We signed up for another day here and drove over and picked up tickets to the "Gathering of Nations" for tomorrow. The wind let up this afternoon so we drove up and rode the tram to the top of Sandia Peak. We took our coats as the temp was 40 on top of the 10,378 ft. peak and the wind was COLD.. We didn't eat at the High Finance Resturant since we had done it once before and it comes by it's name honestly (average $25/person, with tip). We waited in the Cibola National Forest visitor center to see the sun set in the west, the lights come on in Albuquerque and the moon come up in the east. When we got down we stopped at Wendy's to eat. See pictures.
