On the Road # 1, 2003 - Planning the year |
We're leaving home the 17th of Jan for Florence, MS to visit Nita, Bob, Nathan &
Jenna for a few days and will go south on I-55 and head west on I-10. We'll
spend a weekend in Houston with Bruce and Judy and will make other stops along
the way to Sierra Vista, AZ for the Cowboy Music and Poetry Gathering, Feb 7-9.
We'll be roaming around AZ and NM until we head north to MN in the spring.
We should be doing email 2-3 times a week while on the road.
If any of you are traveling in that area, drop us an email and we'll see if our
trails will cross. We plan to visit our friends, the Lynns in MN after the
snow melts and will travel east through Canada, to Maine, to visit some old
friends, Frank & Mary Ann Harding, who we last saw at Argentia, NFLD with the Navy
in 1963. Wonder if they'll look any different? We'll then go to
Nova Scotia to catch the ferry to Newfoundland, where we'll tour for a few weeks,
including the old base at Argentia, now a NFLD resort, since the base closed
soon after we left there. We'll come back to ME and wait for fall colors,
then follow the color south to get home by Nov 1. That is all the itenary
we have. We'll get to places when we arrive and go when we decide to
leave. We'll try to stop at National Parks, points of interest, state parks,
Canadian and Provincial parks and anything else that strikes our fancy along
the way. We'll be sending regular email to the addresses on this email
with pictures unless you've asked us to hold the pictures. If you know anybody
we've left off, send us an email. If you're tired of getting our email
or want to discontinue pictures, let us know and we'll take you off.
