On (off) the Road - July 2004
Nathan's Birthday and Jenna's Horse and Bird
On July 3rd, we went to Florence to celebrate our grandson, Nathan's, 14th birthday.  On the 10th, we attended his party at the Choctaw Waterpark.  They have neat cabanas, where we could stay in the shade.  Nita and Jenna relaxed in the cabana, while Nathan looked cool in his sun glasses.  Click on pictures to view them full size.  Click 'Back' on your browser to return.
On the 31st, Jenna got her first horse, a paint named "Candy", so we went down for a visit.  She also has a Bluejay she raised after it fell out of the nest.  It is old enough to live on its own so every day they take it outside and let it go, but it flies right back inside as soon as they open the door.  Anybody know how to wean a Bluejay?  Some friends were visiting them with a beautiful blue and gold parrot named "Indy", and everyone enjoyed playing with it.  Click on the pictures below to see them full size.   Click 'Back' on your browser to return.
Jenna, Nita and Bob all take a turn riding "Candy".

If everything works as planned, we will be back "On the Road" by the middle of September and won't return home until the end of October.  We are planning a trip to Shenandoah NP and Smokey Mountain NP to view the fall colors.
