July, 2007:

This was a dead month!  We made 2 doctor visits.  A roof air conditioner went out on the motorhome and we got an appointment at Johnny Bishop RV in Columbus.  On Sunday, the 30th we drove up and stayed in the DeWayne Hayes Corps of Engineers Park.  When we broke camp, the next AM, we discovered the power steering and power brakes were out.  Sue had already pulled out into the road, so Joe took over and drove the 10 miles to the RV place, as Sue followed in the car.  That was an adventure!  To add to the problems, the dash air had quit working!  In the ten miles he was drenched with sweat from the exertion and the heat.  We had planned to go back to the park and spend the night, but with the M/H out, we just came home in the car.
August, 2007:
           On Thursday, the 2nd,
they had not called, so Joe called them.  They had failed to put the cell phone number on the work order, and had tried to call on the old land line.  We got there to pick it up and found the house batteries were dead.  I asked if they had checked the fluid levels as I told them.  She said it wasn't on the work order and she'd see if someone could get to it.  I said to forget it, that I'd get it done later.  On the way home we realized that the auto parking brake did not work!  This was after I had told them to check everything and get it ready for the road!  Harry Caldwell came up and filled the batteries and a local shop will try to fix the parking brake, which had a leaking hose and was dry of fluid.  If there was any good news, it was that the roof air problem was just a loose wire, and the power brakes, steering and dash air were fixed by replacing the belts (we thought).
On Saturday, the 10th, we went to visit Bob and Nita Best and our Grandchildren, Nathan and Jenna.  Joe made some pictures of them and their baby racoon (see picture, posted on June page, for when it was REALLY a baby).  She is now about half grown.  Nathan told us that Jackson Prep, where he is starting his junior year, requires 2 years of a foreign language to graduate and he has signed up for Chinese 101!
It is now Sunday, the 11th, we have more problems than when we took the M/H to Columbus.  The local mechanic found a sensor was leaking on the parking brake and ordered a part through the local Cheverolet dealer and they sent the wrong part.  The dash A/C quit working again, and we found that two of the three belts they put on in Columbus (for $250 for parts and labor) were gone!  Apparently, the A/C compressor was locking up and burning up the belts, so all that money for belts was for nothing.  On the 22nd, we took the M/H to an RV dealer in Jackson.
Saturday, the 25th, Joe's brother, Charles and wife, Inell, came last night to spend the weekend, and today, we all attended the Freeny School Reunion, where Sue and Charles graduated.  On the 27th, Joe turned 73!
